Hesburgh Center for International Studies
University of Notre Dame
Notre Dame, Indiana
 |
Endowed by a gift from the Kroc Foundation, the Center houses the Kroc
Institute for International Peace Studies and provides teaching, housing,
office and dining space for resident and visiting scholars at the University
of Notre Dame. The entrance pavilion, constructed of limestone and Kasota
stone, provides a central, multi-functional reception and meeting space that
is used extensively for meetings and gatherings in conjunction with the
adjacent 125-seat auditorium and 30-seat conference/seminar rooms. The three
separate buildings (public, office and housing) are organized around a central landscaped cloister, with
glazed and skylit galleries connecting each of the pavilions.
