Residence of the Vice President of the United States
Office of the Architect of the Capitol
Washington, DC

The house was built in the late 19th century as the home for the Superintendent of the Naval Observatory in Washington.  In the early 1970’s the house was designated the official residence for the Vice President of the United States.  David Kemnitzer was the principal in charge of the work on the house during the tenure of Vice Presidents Bush, Quayle, and Gore.
